The Connected Collection began as an inquiry into our interdependence with nature.
What does it look like when we visualize the systems that sustain us? Not just the ones we see — the sun on our skin, the flowers and the food, the land we live on — but also the ones we don't. The soil and roots beneath the surface. The air we breathe.
With watercolor paints, inks, oil sticks, and earth-based pigments, I translate these ponderings into a single expression.
The work asks: Where do we fit in? What happens when we see ourselves not as separate from nature, but as part of the whole?
